Blues & Stories: Unplugged Adventures in Children's Literature & Storytelling
Teaching Artist: Blues Legends Lady J Huston and Sharon Foehner
The National Blues Museum & the North City Blues program for the 2024-2025 season is a dynamic 13-week educational experience for children that focuses on self-expression, collaboration, and creativity through the lens of blues music and art. Throughout the program, participants will engage in thematic workshops that explore their identities, learn about the history of blues, and create original music and art using recycled materials and storytelling techniques. Each week, we’ll welcome guest teaching artists to guide our learners through jam sessions, instrument-making, dance, and collaborative art projects, culminating in a final showcase to celebrate their creativity and growth.
