About the Event

Lady J will explore how the Blues shaped American culture while reflecting the struggles and triumphs of generations past. She’ll also share tools and resources for discovering your own family roots, especially for African Americans facing unique challenges in tracing ancestry.

As a multi-award-winning vocalist, trumpeter, songwriter, recording artist, and genealogist, Lady J brings a one-of-a-kind perspective that connects music, ancestry, and cultural pride. From her tours with the legendary Albert King to her role as a family historian and Ambassador of the Blues in St. Louis, her journey will both educate and inspire.
