This year's Lady J Huston Birthday Party & Show at the Blue Strawberry includes an eclectic & highly acclaimed ensemble of entertainers with a stellar band comprised of St. Louis' finest musicians.

Lady J Huston, the multi-award winning Vocalist, Trumpet Extraordinaire, and Recording Artist, will also grace the stage with her highly acclaimed - boa enthused showcase of talent specializing in Blues & Classic Soul music. She will also provide a sneak peak of a few originals for her upcoming "Groove Me Baby" full album.

Sheila Reed

Sheila Reed is one of the most popular, dynamic and long-standing female Radio Personalities in the St. Louis region. She is best known for being "The Voice of Choice." 

 

She started her broadcast-journalist career in 1986, producing various radio shows such as "Jazz Plus" on KBDY 89.9 FM, "Express Yourself" on KATZ 1600 AM and "The Jazz Festival " on MIX 99.5 FM, just to name a few. 

 

Sheila Reed presently is an Announcer & Media Producer on St. Louis Public Radio-NPR 90.7 FM, including their 24-hour jazz station "Jazz Works" streaming @ 90.7 KWMU - 2. 

Songwriter/Recording Artist, Lady J Huston is regarded as one of the most spectacular performers in the music industry! A native of St. Louis, MO, she is renowned for her exhilarating stage presence, enticing Vocal range/stylings, soulful Trumpet, and Bandleader of The Lady J Huston Show. Her full album of Blues & Soul titled “Groove Me Baby” is slated for release, Spring 2023. 

 

Lady J toured as Music Director with Blues legend, Albert King performing on shows with greats such as Buddy Guy, B.B. King, Etta James, Bobby Blue Bland, Robert Cray, and more. She opened for Bobby Bland; a headliner at Buddy Guy’s Legends, Music at the Intersection Festival alongside Erykah Badu, other national acts, & performing on many other festivals and showrooms. 

 

While residing in Las Vegas, NV, she won multiple Music Awards (2009-2013) & held title as "Las Vegas Queen of Blues”. She performed on the Season 3 finale of America's Got Talent, featured on ABC World News Tonight, in newspapers, magazines, podcasts & other media outlets.

Cora Camille is a Composer, Vocalist, and Belly Dancer that has written and released 3 albums with her band Final Veil as well as a solo album with the internationally acclaimed Egyptian percussionist and producer Hossam Ramzy.   
 
Her music blends western rock, electronic and experimental influences with the world of belly dance.  Her Spring production this year called "Global Beats Bazaar" will be at Westport Playhouse on March 4, 2023, featuring a wide variety of dancers and music.  Her piece for this show is a special cover of a favorite vintage song you might recognize!

Chuck Flowers is a veteran singer/entertainer. He has been a featured singer in his own Cabaret show at The Gaslight Theater & Blue Strawberry in St. Louis, MO, and The Gardenia in Los Angeles, CA.  A St. Louis Entertainer nominee, 2016 and 2017 for best male entertainer! He's an original member of  the musical revue, "Tell Me Somethin' Good" by The St. Louis Black Repertory Theater Co. & several other productions.  

 

Flowers has toured nationally & internationally with the Golden Gospel Singers & toured with, "Looking For Mr. Do-Right", where he shared the stage with Peabo Bryson, Deniece Williams, Morris Day, Dave Hollister and Cherelle. 

 

You can catch his performance at LIT Cigar Lounge-STL (Chesterfield, MO) and other venues.

Born in New Orleans & raised in Louisiana & Arkansas, Curt Landes moved to St. Louis, MO in his teens. His musical adventures have led him to share the stage with (at least) 4 members of the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame.  

 

Curt has played with internationally acclaimed artists Albert King, Chuck Berry, Johnnie Johnson, Glen Campbell, John Hartford & the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra....  He has opened shows for comedian David Brenner, singer Phoebe Snow, and acclaimed Jazz groups Spiro Gyra, and The Yellow Jackets. Curt has performed at many major music festivals nationally & regionally.

Hip Hop Lyricist

G Souldier

The Man of Many Talents. Born in St. Louis, MO, G Souldier is an award-winning Filmmaker, Journalist, Hip-Hop artist, published Author, Actor, Podcaster, Poet, Activist, and recently Nominated Hollywood Music Awards Recording Artist.  

 

He began his career as a songwriter and performer, and followed his passion to embark on a journey in the entertainment industry. G Souldier was the Script Writer and Assistant Director in Lady J Huston's 1st music video "Hide-Away". He recently interviewed her in his podcast with the historic Argus newspaper prompting several reveals.

 

G Souldier is a multi-dimensional film writer and director and strongly believes that hard work, creativity, and dedication has helped manifest his visions to make an impact in the world.

Gregg “Happy Guitar” Haynes.jpg

Gregg “Happy Guitar” Haynes is a St. Louis, MO native. He has been playing the Guitar for over 50 years. Gregg has shared the stage with countless other musicians and artists. He is an   Independent Recording Artist, Bandleader, and Mentor.  During the heyday of Lady J's mother, Loyce Huston’s singing career, Haynes performed regularly with her & directed the music during the entertainment segment of her Celebration of Life. 

 

Haynes has toured with various gospel stage plays as a Music Director. He recently toured with the B.B. King Tribute Band singing & playing as the legend himself. Gregg has a catalog of 10 music projects with 2 more to be released in February 2023.  An Eclectic Blend of, Gospel, Smooth Jazz, Blues and more. His ultimate desire is to bring joy and happiness to the world.

Jay Bur is a Guitarist and Vocalist from the St. Louis area. He has worked with some of the areas greatest musicians & bands. He is a regular staple at the National Blues Museum’s Thursday night jams playing before crowds & viewers streaming live around the world.  

With his Hendrix-like, electrifying guitar playing and smooth vocals, his new band mates of Boom-Slang were excited to have him join. They play a variety of genres centered around Classic Rock, Blues and Funk!   

 

Bur rocked the house during Lady J Huston’s birthday bash last year at Hollywood Entertainment, & he'll surely deliver another amazing performance at this show.

Michaele Postell.png

Recognized for her pure intonation and lyrical agility, Vocalist Michaele Postell is relatively new to St. Louis, MO moving here in 2019. Prior to her move, she spent 15 years in the Classical world of music in Atlanta, GA, her hometown. Since moving to St. Louis, she has discovered a passion for Jazz. 

 

She'll showcase her talent on this show, and during her February 25th show at the Blue Strawberry, entitled "Get Happy!" which Lady J Huston will be part of the band.

Phyllis Shulman has performed Comedy in clubs all over the Country. She appeared in the Hollywood movie with Bill Murray, “Larger Than Life” 

 

Currently residing in Chesterfield, MO, she will delight the audience with her side-splitting brand of humor.  Phyllis Shulman will be producing a show at the Center for Spiritual Living Center St. Louis (date TBA) which will also feature Lady J Huston.

JUSTICE is a Jazz and R&B Vocalist with a sultry and silky voice. A native of St. Louis, MO, she honed her vocal talents in choir at Beaumont High School frequently performing on talent shows & family functions alongside many talented relatives.  

 

Justice is the lead singer of her band titled “JUST US”. With the band or as a soloist, she has performed at I-Heart Radio, the Montell Winery, St. Louis County Main Library, The Choice, Angad Arts Hotel, the National Blues Museum, BB’s Jazz Blues & Soups, HollyLou Entertainment, Top Shelf, at Lake Las Vegas, hotels, many private, corporate affairs, and churches.  

 

Justice also recorded background vocals on her 1st cousin’s, Lady J Huston, soon to be released album.

Frank Dunbar is a highly acclaimed Bassist and was the Band Leader for Albert King. He shared in driving the bus with King and mechanical repairs while on tour. Dunbar also toured with the great Johnnie Johnson; and internationally in Brazil Rio de Janeiro, and Italy, with acclaimed vocalist, Barbra Carr. 

 

He also played and toured with the great Chuck Berry! He’s in the movie tribute to Berry produced by the Rolling Stones, Hail Hail Rock and Roll. Dunbar is proud to have been featured in the St. Louis Blues Society’s display in the National Blues Museum. 

 

Dunbar is currently performing with many of the greatest female vocalists in St. Louis, MO. He played a pivotal role in the studio on Lady J Huston’s upcoming album and is performing on every track. Dunbar also has a new single project called “Me, Myself, and I” where he plays Harmonica and Guitar.

22-year-old Saxophonist, Flautist and Singer, Ben Shafer is a rising star in the St. Louis, MO scene and a recent graduate of music at the prestigious Webster University. 

 

He performs frequently with the Brazilian band Samba Bom, Jazz group Hardbop Messengers, with The Lady J Huston Show, recorded on her upcoming album, and many more original projects in the city. 

 

Shafer’s playing is chock full of melodic and technical flair and he’s sure to give a passionate performance.

From humble beginnings at the Dupo 1st Baptist Church, Billy Barnett’s built a career that found him on stage with everybody from Chuck Berry to Yngwie Malmsteen.  

 

Barnett is proficient in Jazz, Blues, Rock, Fusion and more. He recently performed with the Alton Symphony where he played from the Trans Siberian Orchestra songbook.  

 

Barnett’s immense talent is complimented by an even greater generosity, sharing his gift with anyone who shows an interest.

Marty “The Music Man” Keys started this journey in music around 12 years old playing sitcom soundtracks by ear. He attended several music schools, River Roads Plaza, CASA, and Music of Fine Arts at Forest Park Community College, plus training from male instructor, LG Scott. He’s performed from the East to West Coast playing all styles of music including the Grand Ole Opry stage. 
 
Keys developed the name “Marty The Music Man Keys” from his flamboyant style of playing like no other. His high energy and skillful playing keeps him in demand as a regular keyboardist and singer with The Lady J Huston Show and other bands. His favorite music styles are Gospel, Jazz, Blues, Motown, Reggae, and some Classical. Keys is currently teaching music at church on Piano, Hammond B3 Organ, Vocal harmony and is the Music Director.

Sterling Lloyd, A.K.A “Butch” is a St. Louis native of U-City, Mo. He is a renowned musician locally & regionally. For the past 30 years he has used his passion for music to entertain and elevate the lives of people. Lloyd is known for his creativity within the art of music. He is a triple threat, with his ability to sing, drum, & dance.   

Lloyd is playing & singing background on the 1st single released on Lady J Huston’s upcoming album & has performed on many of her gigs. He started his band “Keepin It Real” years ago which has developed into its own production company.
